This painting was inspired by a newspaper photograph. I think it illustrates one of the unsettling aspects of life in Pakistan or anywhere. You never know if, when you’re popping out to the store for some peanut butter or picking up the kids, an unexpected life altering disaster might suddenly blow up right next to you. I wonder about those ghostly figures at the right. I hope they made it.
